Linux Training in South Africa and India

Home

Linux has recently become a mainstream operating system, becoming dominant on the Internet, used in applications such as mail servers, proxy servers, web servers, firewalls, routers as well as desktop operating systems. Reasons for the rapid growth of Linux can be found here.

Linux is also the ideal operating system for schools, training centers and Non Government Organizations, where the robustness and security of the system allows for a large number of users, each with his or her own private files. Due to Linux's almost invulnerability against viruses, this will result in a very low total cost of ownership.

Recent releases of Linux have also made vast improvements in the areas of ease of installation, hardware support and as a graphic environment, ease of use. It has become possible for even a novice user to do a successful Linux installation and to use it without ever having to deal with the underlying complexity of the Operating System.

This is one of the dangers of allowing a machine set up by a novice to be allowed unwitting access to it via services enabled by "accident", like web servers, proxy servers or mail servers. It is our aim to educate users and administrators on how to set up, optimise the configuration and secure the Linux host to prevent its use as a spam relay, proxy server or DNS server for unwanted or illegal purposes.

The course we offer is aimed at the I.T. professional who wishes to gain a good working knowledge of Linux. We do not claim to provide certification such as RHCE, but our unique one-on-one training method guarantees success.

Our students will be competent Linux users, able to install, configure and secure Linux systems at their workplace as well as provide support to users.

Although we are a South African based company, we have in the past travelled abroad to provide Linux training and we are still prepared to do it. Please contact us to enquire about the rates, should you require us to come to your country to host a workshop or conduct a seminar. We would eagerly await invitations from countries like India, or other Asian countries where the widespread use of Linux would be beneficial to the local IT industry.
